I often get messages off people asking about my hair care regime and what products I use so it was great when Black Girl with Long Hair asked me to do a feature on their site. Their website is a great way for people of the natural hair community to share and discuss their personal hair tips and ideas.
For the past few years I’ve been happy with my hair and really appreciated it but I really wish this sort of site would have been about (or at least brought to my attention) when I was younger, as that was when I had real dilemma’s and issues with my hair. Now with the recent fashions of big hair styles and ‘going natural’ becoming a growing trend in the afro hair world, websites like Black Girl with Long Hair are now about to help people share their experiences.
I remember when I was younger and having my hair type seemed to be a rarity and I had to learn how to deal and cope with it myself. Now in everyday life I’m seeing more girls and guys ditching the chemicals, cornrows and weaves and rocking the afro. Also through the power of the Internet and great tools like ‘hashtagging’ we find a whole world of people with amazing curly hair types who have unleashed their fros and I think it is a truly fabulous thing!

Do you do the Curly Girl Method?
No but in the past I tried no-poo for a while. I now use shampoo but try to not do it too often and I opt for sulfate free when possible.
Thank God, i have found my namesake at last. i thought i was the only ‘Renelda’ on planet. you are wonderfully created in the image of God. What a beauty!!!!!!1.
